In the world of sports, track and field is not a sport you hear about amongst Liberians. However, it seems to be putting Liberia on the world map these days. In a race in which over 300 athletes were competing from different countries around the world, Bill Rogers managed to secure the 73rd rank amongst 345 other athletes from around the world. This was a remarkable world record for an athlete from West Africa .
Bill is not only representing the motherland in the land of sports but also in academics. He recently graduated from the El Paso Community College with an Associate Degree in Kinesiology . Unstoppable in his quest from obtaining a "sound mind in a sound body" , he is also currently pursuing his Bachelor Degree.
EducateLiberia recently had a phone interview with Mr. Rogers and here are excerpts from that conversation.
